Lex withdraws the Spectreir as she approaches the Primal Point, giving the equine a well-deserved rest. He’ll likely be called upon again. She replaces the ghost with another, built best for defense, but it sure could pack a punch. The Aegislash appears before her, leading the way.

The Captain did little to hide himself, but as he strummed his fingers against the shimmering SPIDER WEB, Lex thought twice about marching right up to him. There’s silence after his accusations. Her amber gaze follows the shimmer of a shift web up towards a PRECIPICE BLADE. The League Captain was no fool, and neither was the Beast.

Little does Doug know, she agrees with his sentiment. Rocket was acting like fools attacking Littleroot while a Meteor hurdled towards them. Even more ridiculous was the fact that they thought they could mine the meteor in time. Bunch of fools.

The Beast does as the Beast is told. She’s promised the heat of battle and she is not disappointed thus far.

“The League has plenty of sociopaths,” she responds, her tone rather exhaustive, “Everyone has that friend,” she smiles, urging the Aegislash forward. The ghost AUTOTOMIZES, phasing into BLADE FORM. The sharp edges of its sword gleam in the faint light, “Do you really think your SPIDER WEBS can stop us?” she doubts he truly believes that – just a trick to slow them down. With nimble movements, the pokemon slashes forward, SACRED SWORD tearing at the obstacle ahead.

"Yeah." He said to Alexandra Briarwood.

They hadn't asked themselves enough questions, he realized.

One beast marched confidently into the Spider's web.

The league had known they were coming.

The other Beast literally dropped onto the web, raining explosives down from above.

For how long had they known?

Team rocket never disappointed.

How much had they prepared?

Overconfident to a fault.

How much had he prepared?

The Captain's Coat shuddered as a yellow spider crawled out from underneath his collar and settled on his shoulder, the youth remaining undisturbed by the tapping of its several limbs as he flicked his phone open with a flourish of his wrist.

They would be learning soon enough.

"I do."

Shing. The Aegislash's blade bit into webbing, and it snapped sharply as if it had been waiting for its release all along, the substance pulled taut by interlocking threads.

The entire surrounding area shimmered as light reflected off each hair thin string of webbing, the spider's trap moving like clockwork as it, each string pulling and yanking onto another. The spider's trap wound closer, and the webs flowed to bite into the body of the Aegislash and its master, seeking to briefly entrap them.

The light refracting off each of the threads seemed stronger as the webbing was forced closer together, leaving a razor thin bed of webs in the way of Jayden's dragon darts, ready to blow it out of the way.

"Electro Web."

The world became aglow with golden light as each and every thread covering the field became overflowing with lightning, uncountable volts of charge flowing over each hair thin thread as if they were superconductors, detonating the explosives dreepys dropping from above before they could reach the captain.

And with those explosions, he turned his gaze up to jayden cross.

"Gravity."

His phone screen flickered as it suddenly pulled out of the flat rectangle in response, a circular, vaguely duck-like shape locking gazes with the rocket beast as its eye glowed.

The Porygon-Z's psychic power promptly attempted to bring the Rocket and his Dragapult crashing down onto the bed of electrified webbing.

The strong command of the fellow Rocket to his ghost draws Lex’s attention to the sky, she smiled in greeting. Jayden (or whatever the hell he was calling himself for this war) descended as the Aegislash struck the chord. The webs snapped like whips, smacking against not only the pokemon, but Lex as well.

“Damn it,” she growled, grabbing at the sticky web to pull it off her. The League was so annoying with their little tricks and their hiding. What ever happened to good ole fashioned mano a mano? Lex hated it here.

She hated it even more when the webs starts to shock her like a bad dog, “Ow! What the-!” it would probably be quite amusing to watch her dance in place, twitching from the electricity, “Don’t just float there KILL THEM”

The twitching Aegislash was getting it worse than she was, having had a portion of web wrapped around it’s blade. With a quick slash, the pokemon freed itself, melting into the rocky terrain. The Royal Sword raced across the shadows, rising in the shadow of the Captain to strike and the boy and his spider with SHADOW SNEAK.

"Hey, have you considered sword-dancing over Rocket'ing?" Doug called out to Alexandra Briarwood, a hand cupped besides his cheek. "There's potential there!"

The lady did not take kindly to his encouraging suggestion for self-betterment.

"Don’t just float there KILL THEM"

"Uncalled for!" Doug shouted as he looked around wearily, sweat dripping down his cheeks as the sword disappeared— and worst yet, a damn cat was rushing over to them at the same time.

He dropped his cellphone to the ground, a duck-like picassoesque jumble of shapes fully rising out of the screen as Doug gestured Goran towards the Zeraora, knowing enough about the pokemon to realize the current match up was bad, and not in the Captain's favor.

"Douse 'im!" Doug ordered as flaming legs came towards them.

Goran leapt forth and off his trainer's shoulder nimbly, slingshotting off a web with extreme precision as it gathered globs of spittle in his maw—

Before spitting it out as the Zeraora's flaming kick came towards his face, the sound of sizzling and steaming filling the air as the Gastro Acid sprayed the feline, mildly dousing the fires.

The electric tarantula was slapped down by the kick towards the floor, landing as heavily as its light body would allow, catching itself in its several legs while glaring up at the Zeraora.

More or less at the same time, Porygon Zeke's AI analyzed the battlefield, rapidly flitting from shadow to shadow.

Only for it to more or less become moot as the Aegislash came flying out of the Captain's shadow, attack from behind under the veil of darkness.

Seeing no other recourse, the AI pokemon could only throw itself in the way, preparing to run pain tolerance modules. Only for the attack to bounce off harmlessly, its normal-typing shrugging off the supernatural power.

Its mind rapidly downloaded the information, and prepared its counter attack.

The complex webbing the spider had set was burning now, taut cords snapping left and right with frightening frequency. As they did, they lashed out like flaming whips, swinging dangerously at all inside— including Doug!

"Whoah!" Yelped the youth as he ducked low.

PLAN. FORMULATED.

Porygon-Zeke's eyes glowed as hidden power flowed out of it, seizing the whipping, burning threads into its hold before lashing at the Aegislash with them, attempting to entrap the sword into a sticky, burning cage.

Lex already perceived the Captain as an annoyance, but even more so when he opens his mouth. Her jaw clenches as she keeps attempting to wipe away the sticky webs gripped to her leather jacket. Finally, someone plays with fire to ignite the webs and burn them to the ground. Naturally, the practiced trainer uses it to his advantage, the web becoming a series of flaming whips.

Much to the Aegislash’s chagrin, the Porygon chooses to intercept the SHADOW SNEAK to protect its trainer. Pity it was a normal type, but that mattered little. It had other ways around the immunity. However, the HIDDEN POWER was no joke, and the whips like web smacking against the pokemon’s steel. The heat of the fire added additional damage which made the pokemon all too aware of the webs burning around them. It wouldn’t last too long amongst the fire. Lex knows that too, carefully watching through the smoke, biting her lip, at the ready to call the pokemon back.

The webs may entangle it to a degree, but they do little to dull the sharpness of its sword. It doesn’t have to move far being in such close proximity to the PorygonZ. Aegilsash lunges forward, retaliating with a SACRED SWORD at the digital pokemon’s gut.

Glitch-like buzzing echoed across the field as Porygon-Zeke got stabbed into its guts— its gello like body stretching far as the sword sunk deep in, before cyber pokemon rubberbanded with a snap and flew across the field.

Slapping and rolling across the soil to a grinding halt. Its body visibly glitched and twitched, sharply losing and retaking form as data visibly poured in and out of its wound.

The Porygon-Z's spiral eyes zeroed back into the Aegislash, each and every pupil layer shrinking down to tiny dots.

INITIATING F U C K Y O U PROTOCOL.

On the other side of the battle, an attack that couldn't be dodged had been launched!

"Bug Buzz!" Ordered the captain in the meanwhile, leaving the super AI to handle itself for now while he took over the reigns on Goran's fight.

Goran's body bristled, hairs visibly vibrating as a low sound thrummed from his arachnid throat... before it rose into a high pitched supersonic barrage.

The wave of sound crashed onto the oncoming Aura Sphere, canceling itself out against the fighting type attack.

On the other side of the field, Zeke's eye shone as its psychic grip came upon the sword— and attempted to seize control of its own levitation away from it with Telekinesis!

Telekinesis raises its target into the air for three turns. This makes all moves used against the target (with the exception of one-hit knockout moves) bypass accuracy checks to always hit, unless the target is in the semi-invulnerable turn of a move such as Dig or Fly.

Sacred Sword is a success, and the data that spills out is surprising. Lex had never seen a Porygon 'bleed' and although it wasn't blood, she found it more disturbing. Perhaps it was the fact that it was a sentient machine. Strange.

TELEKINESIS takes hold of the ghost's own ability to control its levitation. It's a strange feeling. For a pokemon use to levitation, not having control over it is rather confusing. There had to be an ulterior motive. Whatever trick the Proygon had up its sleeve, Aegislash would be prepared for. Instead of taking the chance to land another blow, the pokemon's STANCE SHIFTS in preparation. The sword disappears behind a broad shield, ready for whatever the PorygonZ had in store.

The Galvantula was leaping before Doug could even order otherwise, webbing shooting out of its limbs to suspend it atop its trainer as some sort of shield.

"Oi, I can take—" Protested Doug, before flinching as thunder clapped.

Running the F U C K Y O U Protocol while sporting a hole in your systems was hard. Doing so while thunder rained down on everyone? Darn near impossible.

The Porygon-Z seemed to be glitching in and out of reality as lightning danced across its particles, a shrill sound echoing around it as its glaring eye shifted towards the source of it. But it could feel itself losing consciousness— er, losing data rapidly.

A-A-A-NNN-ALY-ZZZZINNNG

Narrow pupils shrunk further as Zeke twitched erratically, popping in and out of sight before suddenly appearing before its trainer, pressing against the youth's chest and collapsing against him.

The young Captain's brow tensed as he wrapped wrapped his arms around the twitching Porygon, his jaw clenching tightly as he felt a familiar psychic wave flow against his chest.

"... Thunder Wave."

On cue, the struggling Galvantula's eyes alighted, and with a shrill cry, it returned all the thunder coursing through it in a massive wave.

It rippled across the field, slamming into the Aegislash's shield harmlessly, but also barreling towards everyone else present— even Doug himself.

Only— it simply bounced back off him, the magic coat the Porygon had used in its last moments protecting him from the attack.

Moments later, Doug's unconscious Galvantula fell off its own webbing, landing besides the young man. His lips pulling taut as he gnashed his teeth, hugging his unconscious porygon-Z tightly.

"Look above." The young captain muttered low at the rocket's words, his earlier levity gone, gaze obscured beneath his cap. "That thing could kill everythin' on this region— and you are trying to screw with the only thing that can stop it."

Each and every primal point and crystal represented stability, no matter how minor. Even a single one missing could be what doomed everyone on the face of Hoenn to extinction.

"It ain't a perfect plan; it ain't even a good plan." The youth said, every single life that would disappear in Sea!Hoenn weighing on his conscience. "But it's the only plan... I'm not letting you condemn everyone for some goddamn rocks."

His gaze rose slowly, eyes gleaming with neon as the air shimmered around him. His silhouette seemingly began to dissolve, pink petals seemingly peeling off his form and floating around him.

The sizzled hairs and ugly bruises on Goran began to disappear as Doug returned him to his netball. The gaping hole in the Porygon's body began to seal, lost data returning as the youth gently stuffed the pokemon back into his phone.

Both items were slowly covered in the glowing petals.

"I won't give up." He swiped a pokeball out of his sleeve. "Matter of fact..."

With a swing of his arm, another pokeball arched across the air— And the earth trembled as a roar shook the battlefield. The Queen of Mt. Silver took the stage.

"I can do this all day." Leaping atop his Tyranitar's many back spikes, the young man's voice rose.

"Gojira, Earthquake!"

With a booming roar, the giant Tyranitar reeled back before bringing her feet crashing down unto the the soil. It splintered and upheaved, hairline fractures spreading outwards and growing to the size of massive fissures as the spreading wave of mud and rock threatened to swallow everything around them whole.

Let the boys bicker. Lex wasn’t here to talk. There would be no convincing either side they were wrong. Eye on the prize, but don’t die.

THUNDER vibrated the air around them and the Aegislash’s KING’S SHEILD immediately flared to life. The ghost encased itself within an impenetrable barrier, safe from the numbing effect of the THUNDER WAVE.

Although the two original pokemon returnd to their pokeballs, Lex would be daft to think it was over. They were battling against a previous gym leader and Hoenn Captain. He wouldn’t give up that easily. A sharp whistle call the Aegilsash back towards her. The pokemon melts back into it’s shadow which stretches past the webs and to Lex’s side. Time to regroup and see what Doug had in store.

An intimidating Tyranitar took the stage, rattling the ground with a vicious EARTHQUAKE. Lex braced herself, finding purchase on the shield of the Aegislash that formed beside her. The residual effects of TELEKINESIS keep the pokemon from controlling its own levitation, and the two fall, the shield on top of the Beast.

When she rises, she can barely see through the sandstorm, squinting against it to try and find Jayden’s shadow amongst the rocky protrusions.
